Void migration in a Au-core, Pd-shell nanoparticle at 650 °C. The movie has been accelerated by 30×
With the help of in situ TEM and DENSsolutions’ Wildfire heating system researchers from National University Singapore (NUS) where able to reveal new insights of the well-known Kirkendall effect (KE). Their results on the heat treatment of core-shell metal nanoparticles has been recently published in Nature Communication.
